Get ready to add a festive crunch to your Independence Day with these sweet and salty pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate and drizzled in red and blue!
Ingredients
- 12 large pretzel rods
- 8 ounces white chocolate chips or melting wafers
- Red food coloring (gel or liquid)
- Blue food coloring (gel or liquid)
- Optional: red, white, and blue sprinkles
Directions
- Prep your workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Have your pretzel rods ready to go.
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
- Dip the pretzels: Hold each pretzel rod by one end and dip it into the melted white chocolate, swirling to coat about two-thirds of the rod. Let any excess drip off, then lay the pretzel on the prepared baking sheet.
- Make your drizzle colors: Divide any remaining melted white chocolate into two small bowls. Tint one bowl red and the other blue using your food coloring. Stir until fully combined.
- Drizzle: Using a spoon or a piping bag with a small tip, drizzle the red and blue chocolate over the dipped pretzels in zig-zag patterns to create a festive firecracker effect.
- Optional sparkle: While the chocolate is still wet, add red, white, and blue sprinkles for extra pizzazz.
- Set and serve: Let the pretzels sit at room temperature or refrigerate for about 10 minutes until the chocolate is firm. Arrange them on a platter and watch them disappear!
Recipe Note
Tips:
For smoother chocolate, stir in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil before melting.
Use gel food coloring to avoid seizing the chocolate.
Enjoy your crunchy, colorful 4th of July treat!
