Ingredients
-
1 wheel of Brie cheese
-
1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon honey
-
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (optional)
-
1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
-
Crackers, apple slices, or bread for serving
Directions
Remove the Brie from its packaging.
Leave the rind on; it will help keep the cheese together as it melts.
Create the Topping:
In a small bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, honey, and optionally, rosemary and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.
Assemble the Brie:
Place the Brie on a piece of aluminum foil large enough to wrap the cheese completely.
Spoon the pecan mixture on top of the Brie, spreading it evenly.
Wrap the Brie:
Fold the aluminum foil around the Brie to create a sealed packet. Make sure it's tightly wrapped to prevent any cheese from leaking out as it melts.
Cook Over the Campfire:
- Place the wrapped Brie on a grill grate over the campfire. If you're careful, you can also place it on a rock or directly on the coals.
Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even heating. The Brie is ready when it's soft to the touch, and the toppings are melted and gooey.
Serve:
Carefully unwrap the foil (it will be hot!).
Transfer the baked Brie to a serving dish.
Serve with crackers, apple slices, or bread for dipping.
