Orange Old Fashioned with Citrus Wheel Garnish
The classic Old Fashioned cocktail can be made one of two ways - with orange or cherry top notes. For orange, we utilize Strongwater's Orange Bitters, a muddled slice of fresh orange, and a citrus wheel garnish.

Check out our blog post on how to make these delightful dehydrated citrus wheel garnishes! An Old Fashioned should ideally be served in a "neat" glass such as this one from Riedel, but in a pinch, you can use a rocks glass.

Ingredients
-
1 sugar cube, or ½ teaspoon white sugar
-
Large peel of orange zest
-
3 dashes Strongwater Orange Cocktail Bitters
-
Splash of club soda
-
2 ounces Rye whisky or Ritual Zero Proof Whisky
Directions
In a neat glass, place the sugar cube and orange peel. Add the bitters and splash of club soda.
Use a muddler or spoon to crush up the sugar until it dissolves. At the same time, you’ll be squeezing out the oils from the orange peel. Leave the peel in the glass.
Add a few ice cubes to the glass, and pour over the whisky. Stir, garnish with a citrus wheel, and enjoy.
