Emile Henry storage bowls rely on our grandmothers' tricks to preserve fruits & vegetables for longer...and naturally. The clever design allows an elegant presentation of beautiful fruit on the top, while onions, garlic and potatoes are safely kept out of sight, drafts and light.

The natural properties of the cork help preserve the fruit and keeps pesky fruit flies at bay. The ceramic body keeps the light out, while the holes in the bowl help for air circulation, and together with the insulating properties of the cork lid, maintain a constant temperature, much like an old school cellar.

Before any of our ceramics, pottery, porcelain or enameled cast iron reach you they have passed both manufacturer and our own quality control checks. We look for thin spots in glaze, excessive pin holing, chips, crazing, sharp spots, scratches, etc. There are some imperfections that are unavoidable - such as marks where a piece was held while glazing, or individual pinholes due to microscopic dust in the firing chambers. None of these imperfections affect the function of the piece and are not considered flaws for purposes of returns
