Before any of our ceramics, pottery, porcelain or enameled cast iron reach you they have passed both manufacturer and our own quality control checks. We look for thin spots in glaze, excessive pin holing, chips, crazing, sharp spots, scratches, etc. There are some imperfections that are unavoidable - such as marks where a piece was held while glazing, or individual pinholes due to microscopic dust in the firing chambers. None of these imperfections affect the function of the piece and are not considered flaws for purposes of returns

Your STAUB cast iron product including handles and lid knobs can get very hot! To avoid burns, always use with thermal insulated protections (e.g. oven gloves, STAUB silicone handles, etc.).
Long handles must be safely positioned, i.e. they must never protrude over the front of the cooker, nor over a heat source
